In Fresno, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across California do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

Fresno is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Fresno is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We hadn't eaten here in over 10 years, so we were excited to come here. But, before we were seated we were warned that our party of 6 (or more she said) would automatically be getting charged an 18% fee on our bill (I think for the tip). So, for being a bigger group, we were going to be charged extra. That instantly didn't sit well with us. Prices on the plates are about average, but, had we not asked for what is supposed to be free corn bread for the table, we probably wouldn't have gotten any. Then when we asked for more, she (waitress) said we'd be charged for it, I believe we saw around $3 dollars for 1 piece. We opted out. Drinks are very watered down, food was very bland. I had to mix cranberry sauce w/the turkey, to bring out any flavor. Then when we bought pie, the prices were insane. $26.99 for a strawberry pie, and $24.99 for a chocolate cream pie. Safe to say, we will never be purchasing pies from them ever again. We may visit in a few years again, to see if they've made improvements, but we're in no hurry. Our waitress was very kind, patient and honest. She earned her tip. Which we were happy to give.

Our Ohio experience with Marie Callenderβs is limited to frozen pies, so finding this restaurant was a delight! Yes, the pies we chose were better than we expected, but so were the Shepherdβs Pie and French Dip entrees we picked. It was a busy place but the waitstaff kept everything humming and in order. Worth a slight detour to visit and enjoy!

I love the type of food they serve, but this is the second time I was given rancid single serving pie. This time the razelberry pie had actual fuzzy mold growing on it. The time before, the pumpkin pie tasted like they made it with cleaning supplies under the sink! I called and reported both times. The manager gave me another pie, and apologized profusely- this time I reported it and the manager said in a slumbering disinterested tone, oh, well, Iβm going to have to have a talk with the cashiers! He did offer me a refund. I told him no thank you, Iβm going to report this to the health department. It was THEN that he asked oh which pie was it? And whatβs your name. I order it on door dash both times for pickup - and for some reason door dash has hidden my reviews (possibly) because I posted the picture of the mold -

Food was fine, but portions were a bit small for the price. Not the staff's fault. Servers, etc. are doing what they can, but it is apparent the restaurant has seen better days. Most likely due to issues with corporate Armosphere was disappointing. I could tell this used to be a nice place, but has become somewhat dingy. I probably will not return.

Friendly service. Pi (3.14) day special. Nice comfort food meals. Clean environment. All dining was in the bar area.
